We recently had a discussion about the usage of Less CSS at iThemes. Here are my thoughts.

Although it is an interesting concept, I find it unnecessary.

CSS provides a rich landscape for using less code. If one follows a standard of using inherited attributes, making less css is easy. In addition, using classes also assists in using less CSS. If one wants big boxes to have a larger border-radius than smaller boxes, but also have similar box style, one could simply uses classes to define this.

I just submitted a request for a new feature for Things by Cultured Code. I hope it gets approved.

Here is my submission:

I would like to request a feature. I believe the feature can be completed in one of two ways (or a combination of the two).

Here is my case. Many users have several ‘desktops’ (formerly known as ‘spaces’) open at once. As of now users can quickly add new to dos with keyboard shortcuts, but they have to go to the app to see and check to dos as complete. I believe that giving users the ability to see ‘Todays’ to dos and check complete on any desktop would prove as a beneficial feature.

Methods of Completion:

1. A menu bar icon that (when activated) displays the list. This menu bar would be activated via click or keyboard shortcut.

2. A window that pops up with a keyboard shortcut. You currently do this with adding new to dos and opening the Tags window (tags is in app only).

I will leave design concept up to you (unless you want my input).

Today I tweeted about a 32 character requirement for passwords and it sparked quite a discussion. I find it quite interesting that people are so reluctant safeguard their personal information. Seems like laziness to me.

I Ive said it many times before, I simply love Spotify. I listen to it everyday at iThemes, in the car and at the gym. I’ve even created a customized Growl application to work seamlessly with Spotify.

I’ve created an animated Growl style that display’s the album. I specifically created it for Spotify and have not tested it with any other application. Since every mac user at iThemes liked the style, I have decided to share it with my readers.
